Pamudzi Pathu Initiative is committed to improving the lives of individuals with disabilities in Malawi. One such beneficiary is Getrude, a young lady from Chiladzulu, who faced significant challenges due to her disability. Getrude’s disability severely limited her mobility and movement, hindering her ability to engage in daily activities and participate in economic opportunities.

To address Getrude’s challenges, Pamudzi Pathu Initiative intervened by providing her with a wheelchair, which has significantly improved her mobility and independence. Additionally, our organization provided her with startup funds to initiate a small business, empowering her to become economically active and self-sufficient.

The provision of the wheelchair and startup funds has had a transformative impact on Getrude’s life. She is now able to move freely and participate in activities that were previously inaccessible to her. Moreover, her newfound economic independence has enabled her to contribute to her household’s food security, improving the overall well-being of her family.

Gerude’s story is a testament to the positive impact that targeted support can have on the lives of individuals with disabilities.
